Coverage From The Day
Bridal Coverage
Being at a brides house on the morning of her wedding is a fascinating time. To experience the excitement, the nervousness and the emotion that oozes from everyone present during this frantic time is a joy to us as photographers.
Bridal coverage is not about us taking photographs of brides wrestling into their corsets. We take tasteful shots of the bridal preparations, helped along by mothers, bridesmaids and best friends.
It is the perfect time to capture those detail shots that we think are important. Brides can take months choosing and deciding every aspect of their wedding day down to the tiniest detail. Whether it is the shoes hidden beneath their dress to the garter and jewellery they’ve chosen to accompany it. These are the items we like to capture on camera while the bride is busy. Only once the bride is happy to be caught on camera will we turn our attention to her.
We capture her, often at her calmest, having her hair and makeup done. Photographers remain unobtrusive in a house that can be packed with people getting ready, drinking champagne or having a private giggle. However, the rest of the party are not forgotten about during these anxious hours. We capture the stages carried out by the stunning mothers of the brides and the proud fathers of the brides, also nervous about their role in the day ahead. A father giving away her daughter is a proud moment and seeing her in that dress for the first time you can see them beaming. We aim never to miss these moments.
It’s also an ideal time to get photographs of little ones, whether it is bridesmaids or page boys, while they are still looking pristine and excited about their role in the day ahead. Little Bridesmaids look like princesses but you can often see how they admire the bride herself and dream to be like her one day.
Once the bride has completed her full transition from pyjamas to princess and been revealed to parents and best friends then traditional shots can also be taken, if desired. If not, it’s a perfect time to have a giggle with girlfriends or drink some more champagne! More moments that we aim never to miss
It is an honour to be part of anyone’s wedding day and even more so to be one of the few people allowed into the bridal prep area. Our aim is to capture the morning’s atmosphere, relationships and the moments which are both fun and emotional. We do this all without anyone even noticing we are there.
Groom Coverage
Just as you can capture the bridal preparations, you can also capture how the groom prepares himself before the big event. This usually just entails a few drinks, laughs and wind-ups down the pub. Men, unlike the girls, take very little time in getting themselves ready. A quick jump in the shower and they jump into their gear – unless it’s more complicated than the usual attire! They then find that this gives them a lot of time on the morning of their wedding to either get extremely nervous or enjoy some time with their bestman and best friends. We use this opportunity to capture the bonds between the guys that are usually hidden as well as capturing the usual ‘detail’ shots. It also gives the brides an insight into what their grooms got up to during their last single hours!
